Birley Spa was our first project for developer. We had always turned down opportunities previously as we don't like to produce unemagintive soul destroying designs in which people are expected to conform to insufficient spaces. We want to make spaces that enhance the human experience and compliment lifestyles, especially where we live. With this in mind we were given the opportunity to create something different within a well established post war residential area. We had two key objectives to our brief; Create a space in which people would want to, and enjoy living. The other, make sure the developer makes good profit. Now, depending which side of the fence your, will determine which you'll favour. So we had the challenge of achieving both. Now we feel we have the formula to maximising developer returns, yet still retaining architectural integrity and creating spaces to which people love and enjoy.
