A Contemporary Pool House in the Green Belt.

With this the brief was simple, Turn an outdoor pool into and indoor pool. The practical however was anything but! With previous failed applications by other practices trying to cover an existing poor performing outdoor pool and link back to the house, we had to think outside of the box and by combining logic with imagination, we came up with a very simple idea. Move the pool! By positioning it between the existing dwelling and dilapidated pool house we could utilise the existing services and stay within the existing building line. In order to reduce the mass of what would be a supersize property, we used a contemporary approach to this scheme to minimise the impact visually and create a more sympathetic connection through a use of pallet of contrasting materials.
